Status Update

Where to begin. Well it turns out I'm really a sweet guy, my doctor told me I have diabetes type II. It's not that bad really, infact it's given me the kick in the butt I needed to drop the weight. I was diagnosed about 5 weeks ago. Since then i've dropped some pounds, regained alot of energy, been using that energy to do alot of running, I've noticed it hurts my feet alot less to run than walk. So far I have not experienced any symptoms, I was in for a checkup for my bloodpressure and that's when they found it. Doc says it's good I caught this early and told me I may not experience anything for a few years as long as I keep up my diet and keep my sugar levels down.

Work is still busy, not too insanely busy as it was months ago, it looks like Wisconsin is slowly regaining it's employment rate and i'm starting to see the results.

I found one the original released Playstation 3's (the one that plays all of the previous games from the older systems) at a Gamestop used. I decided to snag it as it's not often you come across one of those unless you go online. I bought one game for it but I'm usually playing the classics on it, I like how it upscales the "polygonal" images to HD size, it looks better than on the orginal systems. My brother is nagging me to get some of those online games but I told him when he gets older and his dad starts making him pay for things he's going to realize why I didn't go and buy a library of games with it.

Speaking of online games, I've been wondering if Shadow's been playing any Star Trek Online. I still remember our SFC days, those where alot of fun. STO is what I have come to expect from today's MMO's. Which is sad because those same mmo's don't have a monthly fee. I have no idea why they a charging for a game that has little content and items you have to pay for with real money. The graphics are pretty but it's little more than SFC meets Elite Forces with random stories. And you can play that for free.

Haven't watched any anime lately, I thought about watching the rehashed Full Metal Alchemist called Brotherhood. TV wise i've been watching the new Doctor Who, the newest doctor is strange looking but he's pulling off the role nicely. His charecter seems to be a mash up of the first 3 doctors, which is nice but also strange considering how young he is.

Personal Note: Been busy here in the LSS. Had air conditioning and plumbing issues over the past months. Don't know if it was noticed, but the site when down in early June due to server upgrades and I fixed that. I've been only looking in at the beginning of each month cause 1) It's been quiet and 2) I'm busy with my business.

My relaxation continues to be watching anime as well as collecting music and images as always. I watched Angel Beats! during the spring season and loved it. The music was was so good. The summer season is dead save for OVA's and whenever certain movies come out. Here's hoping something is out for the fall.

I'll end this with a joke...

A couple of hunters are out in the woods when one of them falls to the ground. He doesn’t seem to be breathing, his eyes are rolled back in his head. The other guy whips out his cell phone and calls 911. He gasps to the operator: “My friend is dead! What can I do?” The operator, in a calm, soothing voice, says: “Just take it easy. I can help. *tilts head to the side* I admit, this is an interesting response. I'm definatly NOT going to request for higher security clearence and I don't think I'll need it this time. *still tilted* So as you can see from my other post that once again flooding in Southern Texas triggers a post from me asking how things are, despite you telling me over and over that your location is high enough in elevation that you will not be swept away into the sea.

But seeing as you are HIGH up on the Moon currently I wouldn't need to worry about such things.

Hm. Its coming up on four months since I moved out west (for the what, fourth or fifth time?). General status update is adequate. It didn't take me very long to find a job, though it took a touch longer for that job to find me work, but things have settled to a point. Enough that I can get by at any rate. So basically now its time to switch gears towards enough to get ahead. Apart from that, and the sudden discovery of a slight allergy in regards to dogs (my roommate has one, and I hope it dies), all's quiet on this western front.

I watched Angel Beats! with Sonya while it was on, but there isn't anything worth watching this summer apart from a few OVAs that are taking their sweet time to release. And a few films that are taking even longer. Haven't been gaming all that much either. Apart from working at the job and working on my truck I haven't been left with alot of time in between.

Anyways I guess that's about it. oO Guess I'll be back around in October or November, at the rate I've been posting this year. Peace.

Gregory: If something had happened to me ya'll would of been told just like during Hurricane Ike. I live on the northwest side of town, not close to any of the many bayous, and have never flooded here.

My Devious One: Surprised Gregory didn't respond to you. After all, this was his update thread. Though he could be waiting for October or November since you said you wouldn't be back til then.

I got to watch some of my OVAs and such, but no movies yet. >_<

How'd my joke starting in the woods end up with both of you taking it to the bar? Fine, I'll go cops and blondes.

A blonde cop stops a blonde motorist and asks for her driving license.

The Motorist rummages around in her purse and can't find it. She says to the cop, "I must have left it at home officer."

The cop says, "Well, do you have any kind of identification?" The motorist rummages around in her purse again, and finds a pocket mirror.
She looks at it and says to the cop, "All I have is this picture of myself."

The cop says, "Let me see it, then." So the blonde motorist gives the mirror to the blonde cop, who looks at it, and replies, "Well, if I had known you were a police officer, I wouldn't have even pulled you over. You can go now."

I was wondering what I would respond to. I'm not good a theading jokes..i'm more of a situation comedy person.

Oh yeah, that reminds me, we got flooded. Haven't had a flood in two decades. was fun actually. Because of the minor flooding we get everything here is elevated and in plastic totes. Practially nothing got damaged cept for a wooden panel wall or two.

Oh yeah, be on the lookout for presents. Unless you moved they should be arriving around the 11th. Oh, just to give you a head's up, the labels (cards) too are part of the fun so don't toss em unless you've figured it out.

Those presents arrived and I got what you meant about the labels. I've never seen Amazon gift wrap. So that was interesting in itself. I didn't even know it was coming cause I haven't looked at the board since I last posted. Now, I'm posting twice in one night. Being on twice in a month is a lil record considering things as of late.

The last time I had looked up that manga only the first book had come out. That was many years ago. I'm impressed with the cover artwork, but wish the whole manga had been done in that style. I'll give you my synopsis of the story and how I liked it, if you like, when I get it read. No guarantee when that will be. Thank you so much.

Least you didn't have any major flooding problems. I've seen other places with much worse on the weather channel. We've been on a heat wave for the past eight days which will finally break tomorrow due to that dissipating depression in the gulf. Rain will be nice.

Now you know your package arrived. I'll swing back around here sometime...It will be September soon enough.
